What to expect:

What are daily check-ins, and why do you offer them?

Daily check-ins are offered either in addition to regular therapy sessions or as a primary method of communication. These are offered as an alternative to solely traditional therapy sessions in order to facilitate accessibility to people who require more flexible scheduling, those who are seeking more intensive therapy, or those who would simply prefer more frequent contact/to engage in therapy in smaller chunks.

Daily check-ins will consist of a phone or video call Monday through Friday, lasting 15-20 minutes.

You may add daily check-ins as needed to your regularly scheduled sessions for more intensive therapy or to get more frequent guidance on implementing a particular skill discussed within sessions.

You can also choose to engage in the “daily check-in arrangement,” which would consist of an intake appointment, a monthly 50-minute session, and daily check-ins each week. This would be ideal for someone who cannot attend hour-long appointments on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, or those who may feel overwhelmed at the idea of attending hour-long sessions.

What will therapy be like?

Safe space: A genuinely caring, non-judgmental space to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and concerns

Evidence-based: Approaches include researched modalities such as CBT, mindfulness, ACT, DBT, EFT, and person-centered

Personalized: Holistic, individualized care

Collaborative: Open-communication to collaboratively identify and achieve your goals, working at a pace that is comfortable for you

Insurance:

We currently do not accept insurance; however, if you have “out-of-network” benefits for mental health services, your services may be fully or partially covered by your insurance plan. We can provide a receipt/superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will be responsible for submitting the required information.

Thinking about therapy, but not sure?

Let’s address some common hesitations:

Worried that others will judge you

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us, and our staff are here to support you with the best of intentions and the understanding that life is unique for all of us. Taking charge of your mental health, just as you would for a physical health concern, is a sign of strength and awareness of oneself. Also, it is quite common for people to seek therapy at some point in their lives. You are not alone in this!

Not sure if it will work for you

It is completely understandable to feel uncertain. We use evidence-based approaches tailored to meet your specific needs, and we will work together to set goals, track your progress, and discuss any concerns you may have along the way. Research also indicates that a majority of people who engage in therapy report that they find it to be helpful.

Worried about the cost

We understand cost can be a concern. We feel that everyone should be able to access mental health services, so we offer sliding scale fees for those with financial need. We can discuss fees during your initial consultation to work on finding something that works for you. Sliding scale slots are limited and subject to availability.

The time commitment

Your schedule is busy, and it can feel overwhelming trying to add in something else. We offer flexible scheduling options including evenings, our daily check-in arrangement, and virtual sessions. We can discuss your scheduling needs and work together to find a frequency and session length that works for you.

Opening up to someone you don’t know

We value creating strong therapeutic relationships, and ensuring we provide a nonjudgmental space for you to discuss whatever it is you feel comfortable discussing with us. You have full control over the pace of therapy and what is discussed during sessions, and will likely feel more comfortable opening up as time goes on. We will also discuss during the first session whether you feel it is a good fit moving forward.

Unsure of where to begin

You may feel overwhelmed simply figuring out how to explain what you’re going through, and that’s totally normal. We can help you through the process of organizing your thoughts and getting to the bottom of it. We’re here to help you take the first step; contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule.
